The Process
1. You share a photo. We see your child.
Upload a clear photo and our system studies it — not just hair color and eye color, but the shape of their face, their build, their distinguishing features. We extract what we call "visual DNA": a structured description that captures what makes your child look like your child.
Age-appropriate proportions are matched automatically. A two-year-old looks like a two-year-old. A seven-year-old looks seven. The character is built from the ground up to represent your real child at their real age.
2. A character is born — and stays consistent.
We generate a full Character Reference Sheet: a head-to-toe illustration of your child in the book's art style, on a clean background, with standardized lighting. This sheet becomes the anchor for every single page. Same hair. Same features. Same outfit. Same child — recognizable from cover to final page.
If you add a companion — a sibling, a best friend, a pet — they get the same treatment. Their own reference sheet. Their own visual identity. Consistent throughout.
3. A real story is written — not filled in.
A specialist AI author composes an original rhyming story with your child as the protagonist. Their name, their companions, their treasured objects — woven naturally into the narrative, not jammed into pre-existing sentences.
Then a separate AI editor reviews every line: checking rhythm, fixing meter, ensuring age-appropriate vocabulary, and verifying the story arc resolves properly. Two passes. No shortcuts. The language is calibrated to their age group — simple sensory words for toddlers, richer vocabulary and deeper plots for older readers.
4. Every page is illustrated — at bookstore quality.
Each illustration is composed with the character references loaded, ensuring your child's likeness is maintained in every scene. The environments are treated as real places with consistent architecture, lighting, and details. Pages use varied layouts — full-bleed art, text below sweeping illustrations, and panoramic double-page spreads that span both open pages like a cinematic wide shot.
Every illustration is then upscaled to 4K resolution on dedicated GPU hardware and color-corrected for print — so what arrives in the post matches what you approved on screen.
5. You preview every page before it prints.
Before anything goes to the printer, you see the complete book — every page, every illustration, every word. Browse through it at your own pace. If something isn't right, we fix it. Only when you're happy does it enter production.
6. A real hardcover book arrives at your door.

Why Every Page Knows the Story
Visual DNA — not a face swap
When you upload a photo, we don't crop out the face and paste it onto a cartoon. We analyze the photograph and extract structured data — hex colour codes for their skin, hair, and eyes; their build and body proportions; their distinguishing features. From this data, a complete Character Reference Sheet is generated: a full-body illustration in the book's art style. This becomes the single source of truth for every page.
Consistency that doesn't break
Character inconsistency is the most obvious flaw in AI-generated books. Hair colour shifts. Outfits change. Proportions drift. Children notice immediately. Our multi-reference pipeline prevents this — every time a page is illustrated, the AI receives the character's reference sheet, their structured visual description, and their relative scale. The result: flip to any page and it's unmistakably the same child. Their red curls. Their freckles. Their favourite purple dress.
Their world stays real too
Every location in the story is treated as a persistent, architecturally defined place. A coral castle has specific towers, a specific staircase, specific lighting. When the story returns to that location, those elements are still there — because children remember, and children notice. Location Reference Sheets define mandatory visual elements, spatial layouts, and colour palettes.
Their Treasured Things, Inside the Book
Every child has something they treasure — a stuffed animal, a blanket, a toy they carry everywhere. You describe it in your own words: its name, its appearance, its distinguishing details (a missing eye, a patched ear, a particular shade of purple). We create a dedicated reference illustration and weave it naturally into the story — both in the illustrations and the rhyming verse.
Imagine a child flipping through their book and suddenly spotting their own teddy bear — the one sitting next to them on the couch right now — illustrated on the page, held by the character that looks like them. That gasp. That pointing finger. That whispered "look, it's Bunny!" — that's the moment this feature creates.
