Everything you need to know before ordering. If your question isn't answered here, get in touch.
How does the personalisation work?
After you place your order, you'll receive a link to our personalisation platform. There you'll upload a clear photo of your child, enter their name and age, choose a story theme, and optionally add companions (siblings, pets) and special objects (a favourite teddy, a toy). You'll also write a personal dedication message. The system then creates a fully illustrated book with your child as the main character.
What kind of photo should I upload?
A clear, well-lit photo where your child's face and body are visible. Natural lighting works best. Avoid heavy filters, sunglasses, or photos where the face is partially hidden. Front-facing or slight angle photos produce the best results. We'll let you know if we need a different photo.
Will the character actually look like my child?
Yes. We extract what we call "visual DNA" from the photo — hair colour and style, eye colour, skin tone, facial features, and body proportions. A complete Character Reference Sheet is created in the book's art style, and that reference is used for every single page. The result is a character that is recognisably your child, not a generic cartoon. Learn more about our character creation process.
Can I preview the book before it prints?
Absolutely. You'll receive a full digital preview of the complete book — every page, every illustration, every word. Browse through it at your own pace. If anything needs adjusting, we'll work with you to get it right. The book only goes to print once you've approved it.
What age range are the books for?
Our stories are designed for children aged 0–12. The language, vocabulary, and story complexity are automatically calibrated to the child's age group — simple sensory words for babies and toddlers, playful rhymes for preschoolers, richer narratives for early readers, and more sophisticated storytelling for older children. Every book is age-appropriate.
What story themes are available?
We currently offer stories themed around Bravery, Kindness, Friendship, Curiosity, Perseverance, Honesty, Sharing, Nature & Environment, Self-Confidence, and Creativity. Each theme tells a complete story with a real narrative arc — not just the child's name dropped into template text. Browse all themes.
Can I add a sibling or pet to the story?
Yes. You can add companion characters — siblings, friends, pets, or even imaginary creatures. Each companion gets the full treatment: their own reference illustration and consistent appearance throughout the book. They'll be woven naturally into the story alongside the main character.
What is the book quality like?
Every book is a professionally printed hardcover with a full-wrap cover. The illustrations are rendered at 4K resolution and colour-corrected for print. The result is bookstore-grade quality — it sits on a shelf next to traditionally published picture books and looks like it belongs there. These are keepsakes built to last through years of bedtime readings.
How long does it take to receive my book?
After you approve the preview, the book typically takes 5–10 business days for printing and binding, plus shipping time to your location. We'll provide tracking information once your book ships. See full shipping details.
What if I'm not happy with the result?
We want you to love the book. That's why you preview every page before it prints. If the character doesn't look right or anything needs changing during the preview stage, we'll work with you to fix it at no extra cost. If there's a printing or production issue with the physical book, we'll reprint it. See our returns & reprints policy.
Do you use AI to create the books?
We use advanced AI as a creative tool — for illustration, story writing, and character creation. But every book also passes through multiple human review checkpoints before it reaches you. The AI gives us the ability to create a truly unique book for every child; the human oversight ensures the quality is right. We never ship a book that hasn't been reviewed by real people.
